Re-designed in 1995
under the guidance of Sky Sports' respected Ewan
Murray, the 6000 yard par 70 parkland
course offers a superb balance of challenge and playability
which will appeal to both pros and beginners alike. A
12 bay driving range, practice bunker and putting area
allow for the all important pre-round warm-up before
the real golf begins.
The two halves of the course contrast considerably. The
front-nine is played on traditional, undulating parkland,
whilst the back-nine features flatter, tree-lined fairways.
Water comes into play on three of the holes - the ninth,
eleventh and eighteenth - and because of its exceptional
irrigation system, which keeps the greens dry and firm,
the course is playable virtually all year round.
