The Pro Club Golf Challenge 2008

Qualification

The Pro Club Golf Challenge is open to any amateur golfer based in the UK who wishes to represent their chosen football club in the challenge.

How to Register

1.1 - The Pro Club Golf Challenge 2008 is a full handicap, stableford 2-ball event open to any persons described above.

1.2 - Players must all have an official C.O.N.G.U. affiliated club handicap. Society handicaps are not accepted. Verification of handicaps will be required during this stage of the competition.
1.3 - Handicap limits for The Pro Club Golf Challenge are 24 (Men) and 30 (Women)
1.4 - The cost of registering for the Challenge is £199 including VAT per 2-ball team. Completed registration forms must be returned to the organiser's office at least 14 days prior to the regional heat.
1.5 - The names of the players and their guests must be submitted by registered mail to the organisers on the official registration form within at least 14 days of the date of the regional heat.
1.6 - Upon receipt of a completed Registration Form and payment, the Team will be placed into the regional heat requested on a first come first served basis.

Format & Rules for the Regional Heats & The Grand Final

2.1 - Each regional heat & The Grand Final will consist of an 18 hole, 2-ball, better-ball Stableford competition, with players playing off their full official club handicaps. The minimum age for qualifying competitors is 18.
2.2 - The top scoring team at each regional heat will automatically qualify for the Grand Final to be staged at a top championship venue in autumn 2008.
2.3 - The top scoring team at the Pro Club Grand Final will be deemed to be The Pro Club Golf Challenge Champions for 2008.

2.4 - In the event of a tie, the qualifying / winning team will be selected on the basis of a count-back (back nine holes, back six holes, back three holes, back one hole, front nine holes, front six holes, front three, front one - as per the card of the course, not the order in which they might have been played). In the unlikely event that there is still a tie, the qualifying / winning team will be decided by a sudden death play off.      
2.5 - All players who have qualified for the Grand Final must have an official club handicap, valid within the last three months. Verification of handicaps will be required during this stage of the competition.
2.6 - The regional heats & Grand Final will be officiated by an Event Director, Pro Club Ltd and a Tournament Referee (The PGA of Great Britain) who will be the sole arbitrators.                               
2.7 - Expenses will be covered by Pro Club Ltd for qualifiers of the Grand Final. Venue to be announced.

General

3.1 - In matters concerning any off-course query or dispute, the decision of the organising committee will be final. That committee will comprise of a qualified Professional Golfers Association member, the event organisers, namely Pro Club Ltd., plus, if appropriate, an independent referee.
3.2 - The organisers reserve the right to change details described in the event literature.
3.3 - The organisers cannot be held responsible for any liability caused by inclement weather.
